This studio is situated on the ground floor of a 16th century building in a quiet and safe street in the heart of the Latin quarter. 50 meters from Bd St Germain, Notre Dame, the river and near Sorbonne. restaurants, cafés, metro & buses, shops, etc The space This newly renovated 19 square meter studio is situated on the ground floor of a 16th building located is a small quiet and safe street in the heart of the Latin district. It is just 50 meters from Bd St Germain, Notre Dame's Cathedral and the Seine river and very near also the Sorbonne. Plenty of restaurants, bars, cafés, health clubs, a swimming pool, metro stations, market, bus stops, supermarkets and various shops are available within walking distance (less than 200 meters). You can walk from there to many places of interest. The studio has a very big window and a door both facing the courtyard with iron grills so both can be left open. So ventilation is very good. But we are in the ground level of a 16th century building, the studio (and the courtyard) doesn't have direct sunlight, so it is damp and dark, regardless the excellent ventilation. Most visitors are very happy and usually this is not a problem (read comments/reviews) , but if you are very sensitive to humidity or suffer any respiratory medical condition, please read the comments or contact me before you decide. The main entrance consists of a French door protected by a metal gate/grid. It faces a quiet courtyard. The floor is parqueted with oak wood everywhere except in the bathroom and toilets which is all tiled. There are also beams and a 3,20 m high ceiling, retaining it’s very ancient French charm. It has a large window (with wooden shuttles). The studio is furnished with: a single mezzanine bed for a child or a younger person, reachable by a ladder, a sofa with a pull out bed both 80cm so it easily converts into a double bed (160 cm wide) a bedside table with a lamp, a Moroccan style round table , three chairs, shelves, a cabinet for kitchen utensils and another for clothes and linen, a wardrobe. The kitchenette : The kitchenette is equipped with only very basic amenities for quick meals BUT not suitable for real cooking as there's no ventilation or air extracting system other than the window. Is ok for a snack of simple breakfasts but not adapted proper cooking . There a sink and a water point , an electric burner, a coffee machine , an electric kettle , a microwave, a small fridge, and basic cooking utensils and crockery for 2. It is best suited for a young couple or 2 single students. Three adults is possible but not comfortable for dinning. The bathroom : The studio has just been renovated and there is a new bathroom accessible from the main room. It includes toilets, a washbasin and a shower. Heating : Is run individually by electricity (both main room and bathroom has electric heaters) Wi Fi connexion is possible and free. PLEASE READ THIS: As I've been having problems with guests using my internet connection (wifi) to download legally films/music using torrent sites, I'll give you full WiFi access if your promise NOT USING TORRENT DOWNLOADS, NOT RUNNING ANY P2P SOFTWARE ON YOUR COMPUTER (like Bit Torrent) during the time you connect with my WIFi network. There is a Radio/Cassette/CD Hi FI system with AUX input for i-pad/Phones What's included: -2 towels per person -Linen, sheets, blankets. -Electricity/water -2 rolls of toilet paper. Guest access There's an independent access through the courtyard, guests won't need access to the main building (inter-phone) nor elevator, it's on the ground level with its own independent entrance from courtyard. You can get into the studio with a wheelchair but the access to the building needs you to stand up and manually open the gate, so guests travelling alone using a wheelchair are not accepted. Other things to note A single person can sleep in the mezzanine (2 meters high, mattress 80x190 cm) leaving the sofa as a living room; or in the sofa itself (190x75 cm) Two singles can accommodate on the sofa and mezzanine. A couple can sleep in the sofa with the pull-out bed, that forms a double bed once raised (see photos) Two adults cans sleep in separate beds with the pull-out bed and sofa-bed, a third adult can also sleep with double sofa and mezzanine.
